Saturday saw the second match of the Chiltern League, at a sunny Teardrop Lakes. The day started with drama when the booked portaloos didn’t arrive, but the day was saved when MKAC fetched their portaloos from the Stantonbury track.
And on to the racing…
This is MKDP’s first season back in Division 2. Emma had a great run to win the senior women’s race in 23:03, and it was lovely to see Holly back competing too, in preparation for her London marathon next April. She came 13th, in 29:05.
Nic was 2nd in the U17 men’s race (20:23) in his first XC race this season.
Devon, Stuart and Liam all competed in the senior men’s race. Devon was 12th in a time of 36:31, taking more than a minute off his last year’s time. Stuart was 32nd in 40:52, Liam 80th in 45:49 – almost exactly his time of last year!
Thanks to all who raced. See you all on 2 December at Stopsley Common, Luton. Remember to bring hats, gloves, DryRobes, etc. for the coldest course on the circuit!
Thanks to @leightonathlete for organising the day, and thanks too for organising lovely packed lunches for all the marshals – much appreciated!
