6th place for Ben in BUCS 1500m final
BUCS news: The BUCS outdoor champs were held in Manchester from 29 April to 1 May.
Ben West (running for Loughborough) was second in his race in the first round, in 3:58.46, which meant he qualified for the semi-final. The semi-final was held the next day (the 1500m is run three times over three days, with the fastest qualifiers progressing to the next round). In the semi, Ben was in the top four at the bell, and opened up a convincing lead over the last lap to win in 3:53.47, making him the sixth-fastest qualifier from the three semi-finals.
The final was held the next day, 1 May, and Ben was sixth, in a great time of 3:53.42.
