A silver medal for Sophie at the Beds county 1500m
The combined Beds/Herts county championships were held in Stevenage on 23 April 2022. Sophie competed in the 1500m.
Here’s her race report:
‘It was my first time racing at Stevenage, and I felt quite confident before the race. The conditions were quite windy but not too cold. The race started quite fast but I kept to my pace and managed to make up ground, finishing in 4:46.70, a new PB! I was really happy with how I ran: I almost got the English Schools qualifying time and I’m confident that with a bit more training over the next week or so, I’ll be able to get it.
‘I also managed to come away with second in Bedfordshire in the U17 women’s race! I enjoyed the race and it was nice to see some of my running friends, as I haven’t raced with them for a couple of months.’
Well done to Sophie – another medal to add to her collection!
