Campbell Park Chiltern League match report

The fourth Chiltern League match of this season was held yesterday at Campbell Park, Milton Keynes. This is always a tricky course with lots of hills, but this year the going was heavy from the start and extremely muddy by the end.

Nic Hammett won the U17 men’s race - his first Chiltern League win! Huge congratulations to him! He led the race from the start and won in 19:50, 15 seconds ahead of the second runner.

Emma Mears achieved an amazing second place in the senior women’s race, finishing in 22:09. Jade White was 20th, finishing in 26:31, despite losing her spikes in the mud and finishing barefoot! There were 199 runners.

Marcus Lovell had a fabulous race, finishing 12th in the senior men’s race, in 32:04. Stuart Sinclair was 21st in the M50 category, in a time of 40:24. There were 331 runners.

In the U13 boys’ race Morgan Bunn kept up the consistent form he has shown this season, finishing 5th in 10:21, knocking 26 seconds off his 2022 time.

Marshall Bunn was 21st out of 56 runners in the U11 boys’ race, finishing in 6:22, in his first XC race at this venue.

Well done to all athletes for tremendous racing in challenging conditions yesterday!

It will be a pleasure to be back at Keysoe for the last CL match of this season. As usual, we need as many club runners to race as possible. See you there on 11 February!
