Charlie Wheeler runs new MK 5k track record time of 13:38
Amazing running by Charlie Wheeler on 9 July in the Soar MK5000 PB special held at Stantonbury track and organised by MMKAC.
Charlie ran a new PB of 13:38 to claim the stadium record - and this is even more special as it’s Charlie’s home track.
Charlie had this to say about his epic race:
‘I was looking for a race to finish my season with, and this lined up well, since it was at my home track. I’ve felt pretty tired since the British champs [where Charlie was 6th in the 5k], as it’s the end of a long season, but I wanted to go out and run hard. Jack [Rowe] took me to two miles, so then it was just about finishing it off. Looking forward to a break now!’
Charlie, you deserve it!
