Chiltern League 2021-22, Oxford - Match 1

It was lovely to get back to XC racing after having no XC last year, thanks to Covid-19. Yesterday the XC season got off to a great start in sunny Oxford.

Zachary Stanners was 16th in the U11 boys’ race (8:08) in his first race for MKDP. Well done!

In the U13 boys’ race, Morgan Bunn was 11th in a time of 12 minutes, while Sam Dewhirst was 14th (12:17).

In the U15 girls’ race, Sophie Jacobs was 2rd (14:38). An amazing achievement!

In the senior women’s race, Martinha Royles was 62nd (29:46, 22nd in the F35 category).

We had lots of athletes in the senior men’s race: Marcus Lovell came 28th (32:15, 22nd in the senior category),Mick Greener 42nd (33:24, 29th in the senior category),David Cruz-Walma 56th (34:24, 38th in the senior category),Harry Hammond 104th (37:01, 58th in the senior category),Eliot Winter 105th (38:13, 61st in the senior category),Andy Jacobs 141nd (39:41, 38th in the M40 category),Stuart Sinclair 148th (40:08, 22nd in the M50 category),Paul Wright 171st (42:09, 77th in the senior category) and Liam Bunn 196th (80th in the senior category).

Yesterday was a great team effort by everyone – well done to you all.

We need as many runners as possible to run each Chiltern League match and win points for the club. See you on 13 November at Teardrop Lakes, Milton Keynes, for the next match (which includes the UKA Cross Challenge).
