Chiltern League match 4 report - Campbell Park, Milton Keynes

The fourth Chiltern League match of this season was held yesterday at a muddy Campbell Park, Milton Keynes.

Our first man home in the senior race was Marcus Lovell in 26th place, in a time of 31:11 (21st in the MS category). He was followed by Paul Wright in 104th place (35:45; 58th in the MS category),Eliot Winter in 127th (36:55; 65th in the MS category),Stuart Sinclair in 171th (39:59; 26th in the M50 category),and Liam Bunn in 234th (50:12; 81st in the MS category). There were 399 runners.

In the senior women’s race, Martinha Royles was 85th, in a time of 31:08 (26th in the F35 category).

Sophie Jacobs was 7th in the U15 girls’ race, in 17:35. This is a great achievement, as Sophie had her appendix removed two days after she competed in the Liverpool Cross Challenge back in November, and she spent 10 days in hospital. She has done really well to come back so strongly, and we wish her all the best for her continued recovery.

This was Katie Jacobs’ debut Chiltern League race, and she did amazingly well to finish in 5th position (6:42).

Morgan Bunn was 8th in the boys’ U13 race in a time of 10:47.

Well done to all athletes who raced to win valuable points for our club!

Because we had so few runners, MKDP was last in this match, winning 653 points. This puts us 15th out of 15 clubs after 4 rounds, with 4372 points. Our junior team were 10th in this match, out of 15 clubs, winning 80 points yesterday. They are 12th overall, with 387 points.
