Eliot races the MK Festival of Running, 13 March

Well done to Eliot Winter, who raced the MK Festival of Running last Sunday.

Eliot came 30th in the half marathon in 1.28.28, and he had this to say about his race: ‘I’m happy with the race: it’s the first time I have raced that distance for a couple of years, so happy to get under the 1.30 mark again.

‘I was really trying to keep to the pace I’d been training at. I knew I was on track, as the whole way round I had the 1.30 pacemaker just behind me, so I was trying to stay ahead of him for the first 10k.
‘At the halfway mark I tried to pick up my pace and started to overtake people, which was a great feeling, as normally it’s me dropping back. I then held on as much as I could in that last 3k through Campbell Park to break the 1.30 barrier for the third time.’

Great racing, Eliot – well done!
