The English Schools XC Championships, Sefton Park, Liverpool
The 60th Boys and 52nd Girls New Balance English Schools' Cross Country Championship took place at Sefton Park, Liverpool, on Saturday 14th March 2020.
Nic and Sophie were proud to represent Bedfordshire.
In the girls’ Year 8/9 race, Sophie came 14th, and the Bedfordshire girls’ team 8th out of 44 counties. In the boys’ Year 8/9 race, Nic came 154th and the Bedfordshire boys’ team came 28th out of 44.
Nic and Sophie are both in Year 8, the lower year group for the race, so did really well! Congrats to them both.
They had this to say: ‘I really enjoyed the race. It was fun going to Liverpool and I felt like I ran a really good race. It was a good experience’ (Sophie) and ‘It was great to meet and get to know the other members of the Bedfordshire team and to run as part of a team. Good big race experience’ (Nic).
Sadly, Mintu Sidhu could not compete in his last English Schools race as he is self-isolating after a school trip to Switzerland.
