Medals for Sophie and Nic in the 800m at the Beds county champs
The Herts/Beds joint county championships were held today at Watford, and Sophie and Nic competed in the 800m.
Sophie won her race comfortably with a fabulous PB of 2:21.85, making her the county champion, and Nic was second in his race, with a PB of 2:21.20.
Well done to them both!
Sophie said: ‘I was really happy with my race today. I haven't done an 800m in almost 2 years so I was happy that I got a big PB and won the gold! I'd forgotten how tough 800m was! Well done to everyone who raced.’
Nic said: ‘I was happy with how I raced, and with a PB, considering the 800m isn’t my favourite distance. Well done to everyone who raced.’
Thanks to Herts CAAA and Beds AAA for organising this event. It was great to see so many athletes racing today.
